In brief: Bunion

Im not really sure about this question.
.But, i will try.. If one has bunion pain, chronically, they will change their walking pattern to avoid the pain.....And thereby, cause other parts to hurt, hip, knee ankle , back...Etc. In other words, if you have long term bunion pain. Seriously, consider getting it repaired. See a specialist who does alot of bunion surgery...

In most bunions, there is hyper-mobility of the 1st metatarsal bone. This causes the bone to fail to hold it's proper share of weight and therefore the smaller metatarsals will pick up a higher load than they are physiologically capable of handling, thus causing forefoot pain.

In brief: It can

Bunions are structural deformities that can be aggravated by shoe gear and activity.
If the bunion is not addressed by relieving the symptoms or realigning the structural deformity, then chronic problems can occur. Bunions are progressive problems, the can slw down the progression, but you can not stop it. Dr l.
