Male and female doctors, physician's assistants, and nurse practitioners should at all times be accompanied by a chaperone of the same sex as the patient when doing examinations.
This not only makes the patient more comfortable, but protects the practitioner from false accusations of inappropriate sexual contact or inappropriate discussion.
