Hard on the outside red lump in left armpit, 16 yrs old, been there for 4/5 months, sometime painful. Saw 3 doctors none are to sure what it is. Ideas?

In brief: Axillary adenopathy

A single isolated enlarged lymph node would be the most likely finding, but to be certain it may have to be biopsied.
Cat scratch disease is a common cause of this, as are other infectious disorders. If you have been seen by 3 docs without a diagnosis, suggest you see an infectious diseases expert. Hope this is diagnosed and treated soon. Best wishes.
