What is diabetes compared to pre-diabetes? If you get diabetes, and then improve, do you then have pre-diabetes again?

See below. Pre-diabetes is when your fasting blood sugar levels are between 100-125. Diabetes is when they're over 126. Once you are diagnosed with diabetes though, you'll always have it.
Higher glucose value. Diabetes is diagnosed when the blood sugar is elevated above a certain level, for example a fasting blood sugar of 126 mg/dl or random sugar of 200. It may be diagnosed when the hga1c is above 6.5. Generally the value should be confirmed by repeat testing. If so diabetes is diagnosed and you have progressed beyond pre-diabetes. If the blood sugar improves you have controlled diabetes.
