Is GERD curable, or is it something that we all eventually get with age? Does eating spicy food make you get GERD at a younger age?

In brief: Can be, no, maybe
Gastroesoph reflux, backflow of stomach contents, is worsened by large meals, fatty/fried/greasy foods, alcohol, coffee, tobacco, lying down after eating, bending over after meals, exercise, tight garments, peppermint, chamomile, overweight.
Can be "cured" in some if above "lifestyle" issues addressed. We don't all get with age. Young people can get it, esp if "spicy" is e.g. Pepp pizza/beer.
