In brief: Cold water wash?

It is much better to wash your retainers in cold water than in hot water because the plastic is heat labile and can warp.
I have seen patients ruin their retainers with very hot water in an attempt to sterilize them. I recommend brushing them with toothpaste and cold water in the same way they brush their teeth.
