In brief: DEPENDS!!

Your dentist will take a number of factors into this decision, like most decisions there is never an always or never. If the tooth that occludes with your new crown is a natural tooth you may want to consider gold although i rarely due gold anymore due to patient esthetic concerns.
All zirconia are very nice due to there strength and further back you get in the mouth, the stronger the forces!

In brief: Full cast crown

Ask any dentist what they would want in their mouths and most would say a full metal crown.
It will last the longest and has the longest and most reliable track record.

In brief: No one best

Yellow gold crown cannot break, requires least tooth reduction, but is unesthetic which is not an issue for most people if not seen.
Other choices are numerous kinds of ceramic or ceramic on metal crowns. Every material has pros and cons. Trust your own dentist to discuss options and make recommendations.
