In brief: Not recommended
Some back braces may be appropriate after spinal fractures or spine surgery.
However its use, especially longterm, is not recommended. Studies have generally shown that chronic use of back braces can lead to weakening of your back muscles due to lack of use. This can lead to worsening of your back pain.

In brief: Brace
Use the back brace when likely to re injure, and when your doc recommends.
Else leave it off ... You need to build up abd and back muscles, too much bracing can result in more weakness.
