What is a safe way to get to sleep? Can i take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and melatonin together? Are there any OTC meds to relax muscles? My legs cramp and spasm.

In brief: Sleep hygiene plus

Consistent sleep & wake hours; keeping a cool, dark sleeping room; no computer or tv in there; comfortable bedding; practice relaxation methods before sleep; establish a sleep ritual like hot bath, etc; no daytime naps; finish meals at least 3 hours before sleep; avoid alcohol, or caffeine within 4 - 6 hours of bedtime.
Magnesium glycinate or citrate may help muscle cramps & relaxation.

in addition to above, you can try Melatonin for 1-2 weeks 2-3 hours before you target bedtime to reset you internal clock, the most important in insomnia is to keep consistent wake up time even in the weekends, then the second most important is the consistent bedtime. I believe the Benadryl will worsen your legs symptoms especially if you have urge to move them .
