If the child is doing well then there is no reason to treat. If the child is having difficulty with peers or self esteem then medical therapy is of value. Don't undervalue hypnosis as a theraputic alternative for this disorder.

Treatment includes proper diagnosis (PANDA's?) counseling, education and medication.
