Are there proven ways to help prevent hirschsprung disease?

Congenital condition. Congenital problem with lack of ganglion cells in portions of the large bowel. Sometimes inherited in some families. There is no way to prevent condition. Therapy is with surgery.
No. Hirschsprung's disease occurs as the fetus is being formed and the intestine is being populated with nerve cells. We have identified some chromosomal defects that are associated with hirschsprung's but at this time there is no method to prevent it only treat it.
