Have had very large swollen lymph nodes in neck for over 2 yrs. Had normal biopsy and told no lymphoma via xray. What is it & will they ever go away?

In brief: Location important

Any swollen lymph nodes that persist over should be evaluated including a biopsy, so a normal one can be reassuring.
The exact size of the nodes, and location is important as each group of nodes serve as immune filters for different parts of the body. So location can help identify other areas that need to be considered. Blood work may help.May be from chronic irritation on scalp and face.Follow up.

In brief: Lymph node

Agree with dr. Blackwelder, location is important to find the area that may be causing the swollen lymph gland.
Now , i know you said you had a normal biopsy-- make sure that it is a core biopsy and not just a fine needle aspiration biopsy. With aspiration biopsy- the rate of false negativity is higher. Core biopsy can also check other things chronic infection such as TB or other granuloma etc.
