My daughter is almost 10 months and has a rash on her back. It looks like a heat rash, no redness. I meant to grab the hydrocortisone cream, but I applied the benadryl cream on accident. I immediately washed it off using baby wash and water.?

Sounds fine. Benadryl cream for a few minutes or more, on a 10-month old, should not have any noticeable effect. If such a baby has ill symptoms such as fussiness, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or pain, she may have some other illness instead of just a heat rash. If worried, parents may contact their pediatrician for advice or an in-person exam. Read more...

My Daughter is experiencing a heat rash, is calamine lotion safe to use? She's 3 weeks old

I wouldn't. A three week old would get baby acne bases on age more often than heat rash. This process self clears over time & just needs to be kept clean. I find Calamine lotion is excessively drying and has very little use if any in modern treatment of skin problems. Read more...

1yr old twins. Have blotchy rash. Same soap/lotion since birth. Can they now be allergic now? No food changes. Using hydrocortisone cream

Did they recently have the MMR & Varivax? Both can give rashes. The only way to know is to have their doctor look at it. Read more...
Yes. The children may have atopic dermatitis and even though there has been no food changes, food allergy can be acquired through direct skin contact if AD is the issue. Talk to your doctor and consider seeing an allergist. Read more...

OK. As long as it works, it is ok. If you have huge breasts and sweat a lot, be sure that you do not have a yeast infection which would respond better to an anti-fungal cream and anti-perspirant although cortisone cream may mask the rash transiently. See a doctor if this keeps on coming back. Read more...
