Most miscarriages are due to genetic abnormalities in the pregnancy and are lost for that reason.
If you have 2 or more losses or lost a pregnancy later on in pregnancy, it is a good idea to see a fertiility doctor for an evaluation to look for preventable causes of recurrent miscarriages. If you have have one or no miscarriages in the last, there no reason to intervene.
