In brief: See below

Generally we do not advise dialysis twice a week.
It is difficult to achieve clearance of waste from the blood adequately and also in some cases removal of adequate fluid from the body . Three times a week for atleast 4hours each time are being recommended now, other options are night time and home dialysis.

In brief: Serious

Dialysis is always serious business but twice weekly is very common and if done by a good clinic, it should be no prpblem.
