In brief: Varied
Recovery time depends on the extent of surgery, and your pre-surgery condition-usually 4-6 weeks, with return to full activity with 2-3months.
Length of hospitalization depends on your general health- it can be done as a same-day surgery.

In brief: 3 months
Generally a labrum is repaired arthroscopically (minimally invasively with a camera).
It is usually an outpatient surgery. It is painful, particularly for the firs 24-48 hours, but the anesthesiologist can talk to you about a block into the shoulder region to help with the pain, and you will likely be given narcotics to help with the pain as well. Estimate about three months of rehabilitation.
