Why don't men want to go to doctors? My husband has perforated eardrum, and I feel I have to drag him in to be seen. What will happen to him without treatment?

In brief: Will likely be fine.
Many perforated eardrums heal up on their own with no complications.
He shouldn't be swimming or putting anything into his ear. If he's getting more pain or discharge from the ear or fevers, he needs to go in. Tell him if he loses his hearing, you'll just have to talk louder. Good luck!
