In brief: Depends on situation

If you are receiving hormonal therapy for metastatic breast cancer you will hopefully notice improvement in symptoms from the cancer or by seeing an improvement on another scan.
If you are taking hormonal therapy to minimize the chance of recurrence, there is no way to know how well it is working for you as an individual. However, many studies prove that it decreases the chance of recurrence.
