Just took my child to the doctor who diagnosed jock itch. What is that? I need to tell the teacher.

In brief: No, you don't
"jock itch" is the lay term for a fungus colonization in the groin area, easily treated with an antifungal cream which your doctor probably prescribed.
It's not contagious, so no need to tell the teacher; there's nothing to tell.

I agree. This is a common enough problem that can be easily treated at home with over-the-counter medicines. Unless your child is still in diapers and in a daycare environment there is no need to tell teachers anything.
