X rays can show bony abnormalities like fractures, tumors, lung problems like pneumonia, tumors, collapse, fluid around lungs, enlarged heart, bowel obstruction, evidence of perforation, certain joint problems and a whole lot more.
Ct is computerized cross sectional views: higher resolution-find more, but more radiation; sono sound wave, MRI sometimes used: no radiation. Each has strength/limits.
