In brief: PDOB
Bisphoshonates many times are used for pagets disease of the bones if it is symptomatic- pain etc, and /or if elevation of alkaline phosphatase/or serum calcium.
It can relieve the pain and hopefully slow down the rapid turn over of the bone.
