In brief: That depends

It depends on many factors.
For example in diabetics it is a standard of care that they be on certain types of blood pressure medication even if their BP is normal. In patients who have had strokes or heart attacks there are medications that have been shown to potentially reduce the risk of subsequent such events and it behooves the patient to stay on medications.

If your blood pressure is normal with lifestyle changes. salt restrction, exercise and weight loss if you are obese and you are on no medicine and you dont have any other condition like coronary artery disease or diabetes, then you can be observed without meds. But if your BP is normal because you are on one or more meds, then you need to keep taking meds, because if you stop the BP will go up again.

In brief: Yes

Your blood pressure is now normal because of the meds.
If you lose a significant amount of weight, your pressure may drop; if it does, then you can gradually wean off your meds, not before.
