In brief: Genital warts

Condylomata acuminita are genital warts (or anal warts).
They are caused by the human papilloma virus (hpv). Typically, the strains that cause warts have a low risk of causing cancer. The treatment is the same as for warts in other places: freeze, burn and/or cut them off. Condoms can be helpful but not always effective at prevention as the warts can occur in places not covered by the condom.
