In brief: Wear appropriate Rx

Because the eye is an oval ( not perfectly round) everyone has some degree of astigmatism.
Blurry/distorted vision results.Remember mirrors in fun houses? Distort. The cornea is the front transparent part of the eye. Pretty much like the crystal of a wristwatch. It projects a distorted image. Many types of astigmatism exist. Avoid excessive squinting to minimize "getting" the regular astigmastism.

In brief: No possibility

Astigmatism is an ovalness of the cornea which causes a distortion of the image unless corrected.
It is a combination of inheritance and environment and you cannot alter it except by lasik surgery. Prevention is unknown at the present.
