In brief: This is skin cancer

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that needs to be removed.
Bcc is the most common form of skin cancer and, thankfully, not very aggressive. Bccs typically do not spread, but should be treated early to minimize the amount of skin that is involved. See a dermatologist or plastic surgeon to have these treated. This is very different from melanoma which is much more aggressive.

In brief: Type of skin cancer

A basal cell carcinoma is a common type of skin cancer.
Usually, it is found on the head or neck region and tends to be associated with a history of sun exposure. This type of cancer rarely spreads, but it can be locally aggressive. Primary treatment is surgical excision, although some medical treatments do exist. This is commonly treated by dermatologist, surgeons, and plastic surgeons.

In brief: Skin cance

Basal cell carcinoma (bcc) is a type of skin cancer mainly caused by prolonged sun exposure in the past.
It is a slow growing type of cancer that rarely spreads but can invade local tissues. Treatments vary from topical chemo for superficial bcc, to excision and sometimes radiation.

In brief: Locally invasive

Basal cell carcinomas are a type of skin cancer that is locally invasive and can destroy local tissues.
It is also called rodent ulcer. It usually does not metastasize and can be treated with local resection. Seek care to avoid the cancer from spreading to surrounding tissues.

In brief: Basal cell carcinoma

This is the most common skin cancer and tends to occur in sun exposed areas of the body.
If left untreated it tends to grow and invade neighboring structures. It is usually best to treat this at an early stage. Occasionally topical chemotherapy agents can treat these at an early stage. Surgery tends to offer the highest cure rates.
