In brief: Diagnosing corns

Corns are often confused with warts.
Sometimes it is helpful to pare the surface of a corn to make the diagnosis. A corn will have a glassy appearance at the base. A wart will not have this appearance. If still unsure, a biopsy could be done, but this usually isn't necessary.
