What are the most common symptoms of bipolar disorder? Do I need to have all of them to really have it?

In brief: Not all,
But the diagnosis is made on the basis of at least one episode of mania or mixed presentation.
So there must be one period when you had lots of energy, didn't feel the need to sleep or eat and may have been very irritable.
