There are a number of treatments for cluster headache.
First of all, preventive treatments are the first thing. Sometimes inhaling high concentrations of oxygen will stop a cluster. Also, triptan medication is effective for some people. There are a number of different approaches to preventing cluster headache.

In brief: Get the right meds
It is most important that the type of headache be accurately identified.
Cluster headaches are the most severe pain that exists, + don't respond to typical pain medication. Two approaches are used. The first, uses "triptan" drugs, +/or inhaled oxygen to immediately turn off the headache. The second, uses other meds (verapamil or steroids or lithium or topiramate) to interrupt the entire cluster.
