How will having charcot-marie-tooth affect me down the road?

Hereditary. Not all will be affected by this disorder. They are autosomal dominant .
Long term problem. Usually fails to shorten lifespan but will cause weakness in legs over the years. Genetic testing may help predict which variant you have and how soon you will get leg weakness.
Difficult ambulation. Since CMT mostly effects the feet and legs early in life, what you might expect is difficulty with walking around and deformity of your feet. You should be followed by an orthopedist or Physical medicine physician.
