When I was little, my dad had anaphylactoid reactions. My mom used to worry about it. Can you tell me if we still need to worry now that he is older?

In brief: OK to worry.
Anaphylactoid reactions are severe reactions closely resembling anaphylaxis but where an allergic basis has not been established.
It may be that anaphylactoid reactions involve IgG rather than ige antibodies & basophils rather than mast cells. But we don't really know yet. What we do know is that such reactions recur overtime when re-exposure occurs. Remain alert & keep your doctors informed.

In brief: Depends
A history of anaphylaxis or non ige medicated anaphylaxis can be very concerning.
A visit with one's doctor should help clarify the history and future risk.
