Does personalized medicine apply to diagnosis of typical conditions like cirrhosis of the liver? What tests are needed?

In brief: #1 is Blood test

I'm really not sure what is meant by "personalized medicine" (i guess i thought all medicine was personalized!) but the tests that are needed for possible cirrhosis are blood tests to check the function of the liver and typically a sonogram to see the size and texture.
If indicated, a liver biopsy may even be required to confirm the diagnosis or determine the type of cirrhosis.
