In brief: Not usually

A cystoscopy, where a scope is placed in the uretha to look inside the bladder, is generally followed by a brief period of discomfort when voiding.
If pain persists beyond 24 to 48 hours, i recommend contacting the treating urologist and/or your pcp and go have your urine checked for persistant infection or bleeding or other problems.
