Stocking & elevation. I agree with drs wright & capeheart:properly fitting graduated compression stockings help increase blood flow in the legs and reduce the swelling especially when upright. They also reduce the risk of complication of DVT such as postphlebitic syndrome. Elevation feet to the level of the heart also helps when at rest.
Miserable muscle pain in my right thigh that extends into my groin. On treatment for previous dvt...no swelling or warmth should I be concerned?
R/O DVT/RHABDO. DVT=Blood Clot would cause unilateral arm pain and swelling. If your mom has this she needs prompt evaluation. A Doppler US or LE will define the anatomy. Other conditions to evaluate are LYMPHEDEMA/RSD(REFLEX SYMPATHETIC DYSTROPHY). Also a full clotting W/U. You needs a prompt exam and through W/U. Check INR to evaluate treatment.
