In brief: Cut down carbs

Although triglycerides are fats in the blood, they are increased when you eat carbohydrates.
Cutting down on sweets, fruit and starchy foods such as rice, bread, pasta and potatoes will help. You can also reduced tryglycerides by adding fiber or fish oil to your diet.

In brief: Reduce triglycerides

The prescription meds are fibrates, niacin, lovaza, and vascepa.
The first two have side effects, some annoying, some serious. Lovaza increases LDL cholesterol and can cause a-fib. Vascepa has no side effects and can significantly decrease LDL cholesterol. Dietary supplement fish oils reduce triglycerides but can cause burping, fishy taste, raise LDL cholesterol if dha and are not fda approved.

In brief: Low carb diet

Eat only meat or fish or cheese or eggs or poultry and low starch veggies, drink only water. In other words avoid all carbs, carbs will only briefly raise your sugar levels and then you will get hungry again.
The fats in the meat or fish or cheese or eggs or poultry will act like a "log on your metabolic fire" to keep your blood sugar stable for hours . Healthy blood sugar 90-99.
