Depends on why the scrotum is being evaluated. In an urgent or emergency setting (trauma, torsion) it is usually performed in the Radiology Department at a hospital. If not urgent, it depends on the type of physician caring for you, but it might be in an outpatient imaging center or it can also be done in his/her office.

In brief: Hospital or office

Scrotal ultrasound is a common test and easily done by a trained ultrasound technologist and interpreted by a radiologist.
It is painless and uses sound waves to exam the structures. Hospital or outpatient office is equally as good.
