Is it safe to be using Depakote and celexa (citalopram) at the same time?

In brief: Depakote

If diagnosis is bipolar disorder, i would use antidepressants cautiously & watch closely for any symptoms of hypomania such as irritability or agitation or restlessness, etc.

The combination is safe, but as noted you need to watch for agitation, insomnia, hypomania and mania. The Depakote would be used ongoing to stabilize your mood. The Celexa would typically be used for short periods of 1-3 months to relieve depressive symptoms.
