Usually not handled by your family doctor. Is the swelling of the lids? Is is painless? Swelling can be a reaction to focal infection, or an allergic response.
If the swelling is behind the eye it may be infectious. What seems to be swelling may be thyroid infiltration or a tumor. If persistent, it needs evaluation by your ophthalmologist.
