Sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is the cessation of breathing while sleeping. Any other form of obstructyion could cause a similar reaction however, apnea is not the cause but rather the condition, and if you have it you should have it addressed asap as it could save your life.
Sleep apnea. Stopping breathing while sleeping is almost invariably caused by sleep apnea. Other causes would be things like stroke or seizure (which could potentially be life threatening). If you have concerns, see a pulmonologist and get a sleep study.
