How come I have ptosis, but nobody else in the family has it?

In brief: Rarely inherited
Most ptosis of the eyelids, which i assume is what you are referring to, is either a birth defect, or an acquired condition due to trauma, muscular disease or age related skin laxity.
Few of these are inherited so most ptosis occurs in a given individual (you in this case) and your relatives are likely to be fine.
