In brief: Depends.
It all depends on the extent of the laceration.
Longer, deeper or ragged lacerations will probably need medical treatment. Smaller ones might be handled at home.

Beware of puncture wounds that seem small and innocuous especially if it's through a dirty sock or sneaker we're sure which is by definition anything that's been worn for a short while

Surgery - Hand Surgery
In brief: Foot lacerations
Small superficial open lacerations can generally be taken care of by Steri-Strips butterflies or something similar. Larger lacerations that show fat or are bleeding without control should be washed out and stitched finally onemust be very careful about punctured can be grossly contaminated close quickly and lead to terrible infections especially the typical nail through sneaker. Antibiotics can be needed as well as if it develops a deeper infection surgery to clean it out
