What is an ultrasound and renal arteriogram?

Diagnostic tests. An ultrasound uses sound waves to create a picture. In the simplest way, a solid structure blocks the sound wave and creates a shadow behind it. There is also flow ultrasound which is used to look at blood vessels. Us is non-invasive and relatively inexpensive. An arteriogram involves a puncture in an artery (groin or wrist) and then shooting dye into a specific area.
