In brief: Yes, lots of pain

Dengue fever's nickname is 'break bone fever' because every part of your body hurts so much it feels as if your bones are broken.
People with dengue have flu-like symptoms including fever, headaches, and muscle aches. Rarely it progresses to severe dengue. It is a viral infection spread by mosquitos which bite during the day and prefer to live in towns & cities. Wear 30% deet to prevent it.

Look in to "long acting" DEET containing mosquito repellents and note that Dengue mosquitoes bite downtown during the daytime whereas Malaria mosquitoes bite after dark in rural/jungle areas! ULTRATHON, made by 3M, lasts 12 hrs, has 34% DEET, so can safely be applied only twice daily to exposed skin.

In brief: Yes!

Dengue fever, the viral infection spread by tropical mosquito, also goes by the nickname "breakbone fever" for a reason!
