In brief: Dent fracture

The buckle is basically a dent or irregularity in the bone surface.
It is painfull but does not reduce the integraty or strength of the bone significantly. These do not have to maintain a strict allignment because they are not out of allignment.Splinting is for comfort.Other than aggravating the pain, playing should have no negative effect.

In brief: LEFT THUMB FX

As long as the thumb has splint and well bandaged it is well protected and cannot be affected by playing baseball.
