In brief: YES
Most common in women 18-25 but can occur in all women.
The number of chlamydia cases is on the rise. Recently, it was reported than more than 10% of new army recruits tested positive for chlamydia. Because 75% of women w/chlamydia have no symptoms, testing should be performed at annual exam, and consider testing if new sexual partner.

In brief: Chlamydia is common
Chlamydia infections are common and often without any symptoms.
If you have been exposed and conditions become favorable, the infection makes its way from the cervix to the uterus and tubes, causing serious infection. Such can lead to infertility. If you practice "high risk sexual behavior" tell your doctor to check for chlamydia (gonorrhea should also be checked also; it carries greater risk.
