In brief: Major Commitment
A kidney transplant is a major surgical procedure which is followed by close attention from your doctors, nurses, and of course yourself.
For those with renal failure it is the best way to approach pre-illness levels of activity and well being. It requires daily medications and close clinical monitoring.

Surgery - Transplant
In brief: Surgery, medication
First an acceptable organ must be located after that you receive an incision in your lower abdomen.
The kidney is attached to your iliac artery and vein. The urine drainage is done by connecting the transplant's ureter to your bladder. Afterwards you have to recover from surgery and begin taking daily immunosuppressive medication.
