My sister says she has gestational diabetes. Are family members more likely to get the same thing?

In brief: Maybe
Maybe so. Having gestational diabetes means that your sister is at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes as she gets older. A family history of diabetes also increases your risk of gestational diabetes.
On the other hand, if your sister is obese and you are not, or if she eats a lot of simple carbohydrates (sugar, white flour), and you don't, your risk should be less than hers.
