Petechiae. Petechiae are small red-purple spots on the skin that usually come from trauma or pressure. The very small capillary blood vessels in the skin to break and they leak a small amount of blood which accounts for the color of these spots. Stress is not a direct cause of these. Taking certain medications, like aspirin, will increase your tendency to have them. Alcohol use and vitamin c deficiency also.
Stress not related. True petechiae are caused by injuries to small blood vessels (capillaries). The are usually caused by trauma/injury, although straining from vomiting, coughing or choking can cause them. By definition they are small from 1-3 mm in size. Since they are broken blood vessels they take some time to disappear, which can take days weeks.Must consider beelding problem if occur often or are larger.
