I am 7 weeks pregnant and my husband was just diagnosed with pharangitis and put on antibiotics for it. If I catch it, is it dangerous to the fetus?

3 doctors agree
In brief: Possibly
There are many causes of pharyngitis, including chemical irritation, viruses, bacteria, etc.
If it is infectious, it is possible for you to get the infection from him. Some of the bacteria and viruses can be transmitted to the fetus via the placenta, but this is not a common complication.
