Does spending a lot more time in the sun help get rid of acne?

In brief: Acne and Sun

There is currently no treatment available to "get rid of" or cure acne.
There are safer, effective treatments to control acne, sun exposure is not one of them. Please consult with a cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist for evaluation and recommendations for the ideal skin care regimen and/or procedures that will work best for you.

That's not precisely correct. Sun exposure does decrease acne to some extent; but the harmful effects - wrinkles, sun spots, skin cancer - outweigh the benefits considerably. See a dermatologist, get started on a good acne regimen and stay with it, and you'll get rid of your acne without harming your skin at the same time.
