Is taking Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) and rhodiola rosea a safe combination?

In brief: It's not clear

Adderall has a complex metabolic pathway, including the liver isoenzyme cyp2d6.
Rhodiola rosea is a potent inhibitor of cyp3a4, a different enzyme system. There are no reports of specific interactions between Adderall & rhodiola, but rhodiola has been linked to increased heart rate in patients also taking Lexapro (escitalopram) (metabolized by cyp 3a4 & 2c19). I suggest caution because of incomplete data.

In brief: Who knows??

We know a great deal about Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) - what it is, how it works, dosing considerations, how to use it safely & how not to use it.
With rhodiola, not so much. It's a plant containing many chemicals; it varies a bit depending where/how grown. Studies are limited. Fda says no significant benefit. Biggest question is: why take it? Isn't there a scientifically validated med that addresses your issue?
